| Over seven inches of lace enhance this sheet or bed cover top turn down and each end of the matching button on bolster sham! I've never seen a set out of such heavy weight, almost like a very fine canvas! I think it was most likely created as a bed cover. Never used, and of course will soften with use. Even the buttonholes are hand stitched as well as the drawn work stitching. Not familiar with this lace, my research makes me think that this might be hairpin crochet, and seems to be hand made! It's a beautiful lace! There is a 15 1/2" section added at the bottom of the sheet, machine stitched in tiny stitches. Total measurements 77" X 101" plus 7 1/4" of lace. The Bolster sham measures 18" wide X 47 1/2" plus 7" of lace at each end, with 10 lovely Mother of pearl buttons. Though it is unused, there are a few storage stains, which will diminish with laundering. | ||
