| This handsome Very heavy iron mirror reminds me of work by Gustave Serrurier-Bovy, a leading Belgian Art Nouveau Designer. His early work owes much to French and English design,especially William Morris' Arts and Crafts movement.It is symmetrical with restrained curves.An applied grape leaf adorns the top and a smaller leaf on each bottom side of the heavy original beveled mirror.There's a chip behind the left bottom leaf and some small loss of silver from the mirror back, which I think only adds to its charm. Quite a stunning piece for your Boudoir! Found in a little market near Brussels. It measures 16.5" X 19.25" open flat. Circa 1900 | ||
