I loved studying the simple but precise stitches in this "learning" piece. I imagine the young lady as she practiced the basic stitches here as well as using them to hand bind the work with the T-tiny stitches into a case for her night clothes...

Late 1800's, this most unusual box personalized for Mona, contains an upper tray with tiny tiles which would be used for designing a quilt pattern in the lower tray. I've never seen or heard of one AND the quilting museums were not familiar with such a unique item. Hard to believe it could be one of a kind! The 1mm. tile cubes have a raised design indicating fabric pattern...

For the love of Dogs! This Victorian collectible certainly looks like man's best friend. It has a glow that makes me think it's pewter rather than spelter. The old red velvet cushion seems to be original, and has been restitched with some of the original sawdust leaked out. I actually have the sawdust and will refill and stitch if you prefer...
