Delightful painting with roses and a European blue bird after a winged insect! The rich colors, painterly strokes and subject matter are most unique and delightful! Truly beautiful! I found this recently in Belgium. I haven't found a signature , but could possibly be on the back underneath the backing. The frame is very nice, but has some chipping on the outside edges of the deeply coved frame with the gesso showing, which can be touched up is desired...

This delightful scene shows Dutch women engaged in preparation of food, in what must be a dining room. The water colors are still very vivid, however the reflection on the glass tends to cloud the true colors. The main themes of Dutch interior paintings, prevailing since the 17th c., are those of love and the virtues of domestic life focusing on the female figure...

This incredible hand painted box, possibly from 19th c. or earlier, is hand crafted. The colors in places are vibrant and in worn areas muted, there seems to have been initials on the top which is very worn and has loss of painted design. The top is hinged with pegs, and it is joined by handmade nails, shaped like narrow triangles, you can see the tops in several photos, and in 4th photo. The crossed inserts, creating compartments are not original ,but not offensive...

I found this most unusual towel in Italy, in perfect never used condition. I was the first to launder it! The design might be considered Art Deco, considering the zig zags, diamond and triangular shapes of the embroidery, drawn work, and needle lace...

This exceptional vintage hand hooked pillow proclaims "Good Hunting!" in German,"Waidmanns Heil!". The handwork is amazing! It is one of 2 companion pillows that I recently found in Switzerland, obviously made by the same artist. The colors are still so vibrant! There are few small areas of damage mainly seen on the letters a and n,and a bit of wear on the vintage black cotton velvet under the doe's mouth, and top center. But over all, its in beautiful vintage condition...

Exceptional hand coloring on this brilliant copper engraving by Pierre-Quentin Chedel, a noted French engraver of architecture, landscape and views. I believe it is from Prevost's , Histoire Generale des Voyages, a most influential travel book in mid 1700. Titled Nouveau Mexico, it is of a bird's eye view of Mexico City, after the Spanish Conquest, showing the results of Spanish drainage and waterworks projects...

I just couldn't resist bringing back this pair of framed silhouettes from Paris! How perfect for your bar area! What does this story appear to be to you? I'd love to hear your interpretation...I'm reserving mine...tee hee! They are in original condition, with some slight professional repair to the original ebonized period frames. However, I love them just as they are with signs of age! The glass seems to be hand cut. I have not placed a backing on them, in case you might want to clean the nee...
