This splendid pillow slip or sham is of the finest, fluid and drapey linen! However the intricate and finely worked needle lace or reticella is stunning. Then there is the perfectly executed monogram of MT with floral tendrils of embroidery and teeny eyelets on stems. This hand embroidery, though not professional but certainly by a very accomplished young lady, possibly for her trousseau. Most unusual to find a sham of this age with an open end instead of button closure...

This large and magnificent layover sham, was most likely created as a trousseau piece with room for the groom's initial in between. The hand monogram is precisely embroidered in raised or padded stitching on fine cotton. However the rows of pulled and needleworked lace are incredible works of art! The deep 2" edge trim is older hand guided machine embroidered. Over all it measures approx. 44" X 31". I have just safely laundered and pressed it, and feel it is in excellent condition...

This amazing fine linen tea cloth or centerpiece has the most beautifully executed Italian reticella drawnwork and perfectly stitched embroidered floral designs all by hand. The embroidery stands out and is heavily stitched with precision. The needle lace drawn work is some of the finest I have seen, with intricate designs throughout. It has 3 " of hand made bobbin lace surrounding it. It measures approx. 44" in diameter...

this beautiful set of 4 cocktail, tea napkins or even doilies has the most intricate pulled lace, filled with Maltese crosses and then hem stitched all 4 sides. All are freshly laundered. There is 1 shown in photos with what seems to be a small flaw in the weave of the fine cotton fabric. Only shows under close inspection. Measure approx...

The work in this piece is so fabulous! In the style of antique embroidered painting, the roses are just perfectly executed by hand, in the finest petit point stitches. In addition ,there is the hand made lace surrounding it. It is in excellent condition for its age and would be so delightful for your tea, dresser top, framed or even made into a pillow! The faintest of storage stains are barely visible in photo...

One side of this lovely large hand made tea cozy depicts a stunning winged griffin which typically is viewed as a guardian of sacred places...Well, if your tea ritual is sacred to you, then here's your guardian! Even the opposite side is of light to medium weight pale pink linen , enhanced with button hole embroidered cut work in a design of ribbon tied bouquet! So unusual and truly fabulous. Wonderful small pillow sham, is completely made with hand stitching, needle lace, embroidery and what appears to be highly collectible Bedfordshire lace. The lace has the significant design with tiny picots in the bridges of the continuous bobbin lace, however I'm still researching it...as always. This 19th c. petite pillow is completely made by hand...every stitch! It encompasses some of the finest hand work in one piece...

This is an absolutely delightful example of "society silk" embroidery in Kensington stitch which uses layers, directionality and very fine gradations of colors and shades to create classic botanical realism. The design and handwork are excellent! Each flower is so unique. There is a silk cross stitched background pattern in white and champagne as well as a golden colored border on the 2 1/2" flanged hem edge. There are a few broken silk threads and slight color run as seen in photo, and faint sto...

Will try to redo soon. 10 1/4" square ...

This fabulous pair of pillow case is made of excellent creamy white antique linen, cool and drapey, as well as sturdy! I doubt that they were ever used. The 3 1/2" large deeply padded triple monogram, B flanked by A & B or C is hand embroidered with small flowers and sprigs. The 2" hand pulled lace is needle worked in a row of clover, followed by a deep hand drawn hem. Perfect to add to your pile of pillows on your bed, then enjoy the bliss of resting your cheek on this yummy linen! (I flip it ...

What a stunning centerpiece for your table! This lovely needlepoint is edged with the most intricate 1" metallic trim, which has no tarnish whatsoever! Roses, daffodils and vine like cartouche meander around, framing the life size central design of flowers on a background of dusty rose. This fabulous Normandy Lace is breathtaking! It's so rare to find such a perfectly executed piece in perfect condition! I love figural work, and especially winged cherubim. The filet lace and most of the lace appears handmade, usually Normandy pieces are a mixture of hand and machine made lace. What a wonderful piece for your collection, used as a pillow top or framed to admire! Measures 17 1/2" X 12"...

I truly consider this a piece for collectors, as pieces made at home were used until they were just "worn out"! This piece seems never used, but carefully stored wrapped in a piece of homespun linen. From the time when fabrics were made from home-produced yarn, which meant starting from scratch by raising flax for linen or sheep for wool. Then most likely spun by a "spinster",um...that would be the unmarried family member" and probably dyed with natural vegetable or plants! And then it would ...
