This incredible hand painted box, possibly from 19th c. or earlier, is hand crafted. The colors in places are vibrant and in worn areas muted, there seems to have been initials on the top which is very worn and has loss of painted design. The top is hinged with pegs, and it is joined by handmade nails, shaped like narrow triangles, you can see the tops in several photos, and in 4th photo. The crossed inserts, creating compartments are not original ,but not offensive...

This exceptional vintage hand hooked pillow proclaims "Good Hunting!" in German,"Waidmanns Heil!". The handwork is amazing! It is one of 2 companion pillows that I recently found in Switzerland, obviously made by the same artist. The colors are still so vibrant! There are few small areas of damage mainly seen on the letters a and n,and a bit of wear on the vintage black cotton velvet under the doe's mouth, and top center. But over all, its in beautiful vintage condition...

Notice he is enjoying a nut or piece of pine cone, seen in his paw! It is one of 2 companion pillows that I recently discovered in Switzerland. It is tightly hooked in still vibrant colors on vintage cotton velvet with shirred black satin edges and solid black satin backing...

This handmade piece enhances the laundering experience, don't you think? Because of its size, I imagine this one was used for her delicates. The scalloped bottom and Wasche (Swiss-German) for Clean, as well as the eyelet holes at the top, are hand embroidered in my favorite Swiss blue floss. The lace insertions are 3" deep.Pockets for the draw string on each side, however I've left it as found with the braid and draw string. Fabulous heavy creamy linen, most likely hand loomed...

I seldom come across these German miniature fences usually used for feather trees at Christmas or as toy fencing. However this one is large enough for the standard tree, as shown with the Swiss green glass tree stand, item #817942! How charming is that? It is very sturdy handmade with hinges so it folds up! One spindle is loose, and one missing. The green paint is original I believe. Not only for Christmas, but wonderful for display all year...

I couldn't resist this unusual majolica creamer and sugar I purchased in Brussels. The colors are so reminiscent of the colors we often find on old conch shells on the coast. I love the small shell as the sugar bowl handle. As you can tell , in the 3rd photo, the glaze is absent from the very bottom of the footings...
