This heavy pair of cast brass wall sconces, have double arms which screw off as does the candle cup, shown in the last photo. Perhaps considered for traveling long ago...! I just love the design of this antique wall sconce ,even though some unknowing soul painted over it's original painting with a black color. There are traces of the original paint,green and red and perhaps an area of gilt showing in areas. The base is a branch of acanthus leaf stemming from a fleur de lis inverted,measuring 8.5" , it's approx. 13" wide,and projects approx. 7" out. The arms seem to have the original large wooden candle socket covers...
