This heavy pair of cast brass wall sconces, have double arms which screw off as does the candle cup, shown in the last photo. Perhaps considered for traveling long ago...! Such a lovely and classic Federal design, very well made, with a lovely patina! Of course can be polished if you prefer. Found in a market near London.Marked Made In England. Measures 10 1/" tall and 10" across arms. circa 1930
This stunning pair of sconces, dripping with the original crystals would make quite a brilliant statement in any room you might choose! The sparkle just adds so much! The photos show one of the identical pair. Excellent condition and ready to be wired.
This wonderful lamp with gilt on blue in the Sevres style has a delightful floral bouquet highlighted by a dominant ruffled tulip. There is a small chip at the footing on right side as seen in photos. Purchased in Belgium, already rewired for U.S. The photos show it to be a little darker than it really is.
I just love the design of this antique wall sconce ,even though some unknowing soul painted over it's original painting with a black color. There are traces of the original paint, green and red and perhaps an area of gilt showing in areas. The base is a branch of acanthus leaf stemming from a fleur de lis inverted, measuring 8.5" , it's approx. 13" wide, and projects approx. 7" out. The arms seem to have the original large wooden candle socket covers. It needs to be rewired ...click for details
This heavy wall sconce is mounted on carved wood. The real delight is the hand painted design, pale blue w/olive branches and gilding! It is most unique and I'm sure you have lots of" perfect places" for it. Only needs rewiring for the U.S. or use it as the Europeans do with a candle instead !!.12" h x 8"h with 7" projection.
