Completely hand woven with hand carved splines, this basket would make quite an addition to your collection! So unique to display and sturdy enough to even use for collecting flowers, silverware, napkins...just anything you choose! Oh, the delights of fresh French baguettes! This wonderful basket withe canvas handles and leather hinge straps is perfect for using and displaying. Believe me, I've used mine for more things than you could imagine! One antique "expert" proclaimed that this was for ammunition! This one has traces of pale faded red and slight yellow paint as if someone was stenciling it. You can't help but smell the aroma of baguettes when you envision how this was used at one time! So French and authentic, however I've used mine for so many other things also…full of napkins or rolls of my favorite kitchen towel collection, even for serving on a buffet...well,the most unusual use was for my income tax folders for a short time, perfect size!
