It has a glow that makes me think it's pewter rather than spelter. The old red velvet cushion seems to be original, and has been restitched with some of the original sawdust leaked out. I actually have the sawdust and will refill and stitch if you prefer. Such a fine addition to your dog or sewing implement collection!
