Favored among the Victorians for evenings at the Opera, these charming petite binoculars could also be used for dog shows, football games, or perhaps squirrel watching(I did that today!) I'm sorry these photos don't do justice to the wonderful petit point enhancement. The stitches are exquisite, however they don't photo well as there is expected oil from the fingers which held them giving off a bit of camera glare. Perfectly adjustable for your next night at your favorite opera or ...click for details

For the love of Dogs! This Victorian collectible certainly looks like man's best friend. It has a glow that makes me think it's pewter rather than spelter. The old red velvet cushion seems to be original, and has been restitched with some of the original sawdust leaked out. I actually have the sawdust and will refill and stitch if you prefer. Such a fine addition to your dog or sewing implement collection!

Charming toast racks were used in the 1800's always at the table for meals and certainly tea! The left one is expandable and might be German Machine Age. The marks are Ges.gescn and an imprintI can't decipher. The right one is more typical of Victorian racks, with ball feet and ball in handle ring. I haven't found a maker's mark yet. Still highly prized for their original dining accessory, they can also be used for napkins or even on your desk for mail!

Floral and foliate motifs with singing birds cover this stunning Meridian silver plate piece, circa 1880. I gave it a light cleaning and it will absolutely glow with a good polishing. The touchmark is Meridian Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Silver Plate with their Lion logo and pattern #2319 1/2. The base ,which would hold ice to cool butter has prongs to hold a butter knife and the seperate pierced insert to hold the butter above the ice. The domed lid is just exquisite! It has seen very little use ...click for details

This well worn coal scuttle appears to have served well in the past and can continue to provide a decorative and useful accent at your hearth! It has the original black tongs, and intact handles, and seems to have a double bottom to protect from hot coals. It's only adornment is the two simple lines of gilt at the top and bottom. Measures 15" tall X 11" across. Chippy paint and slight rust as shown in photos, but it is very solid and HEAVY.

It seems a coffee grinder must have been a required and necessary item in all European households from the beginning of time! When my electic grinder died, I used my vintage German "decorative" grinder (very similar to this one) and still use it! It never fails me and I can enjoy it's presence as well as effeciency! This one was made circa 1920 by Geschmiedetes , a West German Co. known for their grinders. It's made of lovely blond wood, with black painted wood knobs. Works pe ...click for details
