The large scrolling iron hat and coat hooks are the stars of this piece. The wood base seems to be blonde painted over withc chippy old siver paint. The camera glare does detract from the appearance. Quite a find for any room of your home! My photos don't do justice to this quaint Swiss Mountain Cabin Scene on heavy iron. The colors are quite muted in tone ,with Arts and Crafts stylized pine cone designs in each corner and circling the cabin scene. According to my research,the first tole painting on iron was stenciled rather than painted.
